COMPLAIN LETTER

Dear Madam , 

I am writing to you about my summer camp in London. First, as there was no direct flight , the journey took fifteen hours and we arrived five hours late due to the delays. Then, during the hotel rooms wasn't had any shower. 

In your advertising, you mention "shopping and cinema". But we didn't go to the shopping and to the cinema. Most important thing is your lessons. These were terrible. Your teachers wasn't native and taught awful. I would be grateful if you could give me a full refund of my money.

HISTORY OF CANDY

Candy is a kind of sweet food product. Between the 6th and 4th centuries the Persians found the people in India and their " reeds that produce honey without bees. " They accepted after development sugar and sugarcane farming. Sugarcane belongs to tropical south and southeast Asia. In the oldest India part of sugar were produced by boiling sugarcane juice. Before being sugar they use honey. Honey was usedin lots of country like Ancient China , Middle East , Egypt , Greece and  the Roman Empire to cover fruits and flowers either to protect them or to design forms of candy. Today candy is still served in same form , however , it is more seen as a garnish.

February is a month which is full of cultural and sports happenings in UK. Let's see them ! What things to do? 

Chinese New Year 

In February in London it's likely to be in the biggest Chinese New Year celebration except Asia . In Trafalgar Square such as in Chinatown where is a big parade with music, acrobatics, food and sparklers. You will hear people saying ' San NIN Faal Lak ' or ' Yin Nian Kuai Le ' to you if you go to the Chinise New Year celebrations. That's meaning ' Happy New Year ' in Contonese and Mandarin in order. You should eat a chicken while the celebrations are continuing and buy something red if you want to have good luck for the remaining of the year. If you want to learn its necessary or unnecessary you will go and celebrate ! 

Shrove Tuesday 

Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day people are fashing which is a period you don't eat and drink anything , of 40 days before Easter. People wanted to use eggs, milk and sugar before the fasting started that's why they made pancakes. A competition which people run during throw up their pancakes. In Olney in the south of England is made a competition too and England where the first compettion took place in 1445 and it is one of the most famous pancake competition. 

Valentine's Day 

This Day including love and romance and it happen on February 14th. Conventionally this day was celebrated the festival for Saint Valentine. On this day send chocolates and flowers to your loved is conventional. If you haven't loved , you will take an unknown card from an unseen your fan. 150 million Valentine's Day cards are bought and gave-received while this day and that's why this day is the second most popular day after. Christmas to send a card. Since the Middle Ages Valentine sending cards have been popular. A poem written in 1415 by someone such as Charles, Duke of Orleans. 

February is a good month you should do things.

BOOK REVIEW

Kipnapped was written by Robert Louis Stevenson. It takes places in Scotland in 1751. The story is historical. 

The story is obviously about "kidnap". At the beginning of the book main chracter David Balfour's father had died. David decides to leave his birthplace. Mr. Campbell , the clergyman of Essendean , gives him a letter from his father. It tells him to go House of Shaws and meet his uncle. This is how to story starts. His uncle trys to kill him and then kipnaps him. David meets Alan Breck. Alan's home country is in Appin , in the Scottish Highlands. There was a fight between Jacobites and Redcoated soldiers. 

The plot is full of both action and history. The main chracters are interesting. David Balfour is not only brave but also clever. Alan Breck is both clever and brave as much as David.

To sum up , the book is an interesting story of history and murder. If you like history and action. I would definitely recommend reading this novel.

PIONEERS

THOMAS EDISON 

He was born on 11 February  1847 and died on  18th October 1931. He was an American inventor and businessman. Edison was a productive inventor. Because he was holding 1,093 US patents in his name. In 1879 Edison invented  the light bulb. Joseph Wilson Swan also invented light bulb. They could together  be a powerful. They established  a compony producing bulbs. In 1883 Edison made Edison effect. This was his greatest invention. He invented the first phonograph and gramophone in 1877. gramophone   records  sounds  and plays music .Gramophone worked with a round thin stone plaque and phonograph worked with a cylinder.

PEER ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY

... And he saw hanging from the boards of the bridge. While he was falling, clung to a tree branch. At the moment he saw a girl with a rope. And then she said. " I heard a dog barking furiously. I was curious. Wait! Now, pull the rope! After that he got away. That is why he thanked her. And he inveted her to dinner. She said "I must go." He said " Why? I wanted to eat something with you." She said quickly " I must go but my phone number is ... " He thought this girl has been beatiful, clever, pretty, helpful and for me. After that he called her. He said " We couldn't meet with you. That is why: Can you meet me at 2 o'clock at the same place." She said " All right. At 2 o'clock at the same place. Bye bye. " It was 2 o'clock and they meet. After that they have fallen in love. Everything was going so well Hugh had accidents and there was the dog too. The dog died at this accident.
